    Training Courses

    Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches participants how to recognize and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The course covers common signs and symptoms, how to support someone experiencing a crisis, how to connect a person with appropriate help, and topics related to trauma, substance use and self-care. Participants will also learn the five-step ALGEE Action Plan for providing initial support until professional help is available or the situation is resolved.September 19, October 3, and October 10 (single day training) Learners complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course and then participate in a 6-hour in-person, instructor-led training. (There will be a break for lunch) October 12 & 14 (two day training)Learners complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course and then participate in a 6-hour in-person, instructor-led training which will be split into two 2.5-hour evening sessions. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn a certificate in Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing which is valid for 3 years. Early Bird Rate: $99 Register at least two weeks before the class start date. Standard Rate: $120 Applies after the early bird deadline. Final registration deadline: One week before the class start date.
