Beginner Disc GolfExperiential EducationThis four class course will introduce disc golf to youth players in a relaxed setting. Participants will learn basic fundamentals of disc golf like play etiquette, terminology and proper throwing form and techniques. The first three sessions will take place at the Brookside Park Boathouse. For the last two sessions, we will meet at Bancroft Park for a round of golf. Please wear appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle. Disc golf discs will be provided for class.Fall 2026 -

No cash or checks are accepted at the Boathouse. Payment must be made online with a credit card. The cost is $10 per boat. Parents/Guardians must complete registration for their minors (18 years and younger). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Equipment is limited. We will hold your reservation up to a half hour after the time listed in your registration. Who should select 'Passenger'? Choose this option if you are riding as a passenger on any equipment. For example, if you’re in a canoe (which costs $10), only one person needs to pay—but everyone in the canoe must register online and agree to the required waivers. Community Access Days with Albert Lea Community EducationExperiential EducationCommunity Access Days are all about bringing people together for fun, connection, and outdoor and indoor adventure! Thanks to generous sponsorships from Mayo Clinic Health System and the Albert Lea Daybreakers Kiwanis Club, Albert Lea Community Education is able to offer FREE access to the Rock Gym and Boathouse on select Fridays and Saturdays.Boathouse Hours 9:00am-12:00pmRock Gym Hours6:00-9:00pm This is a great opportunity for families, friends, neighbors, and community members to try something new, spend time together, and enjoy local recreation. At the Rock Gym, participants can climb beginner to advanced routes, try bouldering, explore the Kilterboard, and enjoy rope climbing with support from experienced staff. At the Boathouse, participants can enjoy time on beautiful Fountain Lake with kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard checkouts. Free access is available during scheduled Community Access Days only. Parent's Night OutRock GymJoin us for an exciting Parent's Night Out at the rock gym! This event offers a perfect opportunity for parents to enjoy an evening out while their 6-12 year olds have a blast with a variety of activities. Kids will enjoy a variety of exciting activities, which may include: Rock Climbing: Challenge yourself and reach new heights under the supervision of our experienced instructors. Arts and Crafts: Get creative with fun and engaging art projects. Gym Games: Play thrilling games in our gym, including gaga-ball in our indoor gaga pit. Legos: Build and create with a wide selection of Legos. Cooking: Learn a new recipe with simple and delicious cooking activities. Activities vary by event, and instructors will choose a unique lineup each night. Drop your kids off for a night of adventure, creativity, and fun while you take some well-deserved time for yourself! Punch Pass: Rock Gym - BoathouseExperiential EducationHow to Purchase and Use Punch Passes You can purchase punch passes online or at the Community Education office. Follow these steps to get started: Purchasing Your Pass: Punch passes are available for credit card purchase online or in-person with a credit card, check or cash at the Community Education office. To purchase online, simply add the pass to your cart under the purchaser's name and proceed through the checkout process. Once your purchase is confirmed, we’ll prepare your pass for pick-up within two office business days. Pick-Up Options: During your purchase, please indicate whether you’d like to pick up your punch pass at the Community Education office (Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM) or from staff at the Rock Gym during open hours (Tuesday, Friday & Saturday 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM). Using Your Punch Pass: Punch passes are valid for both the Rock Gym and Boathouse. They can be used by the purchaser and other members of their group. To attend the Rock Gym or Boathouse, you must register online ahead of time and select the punch pass option as your payment method for each person in your party. Any balance remaining can be paid during registration. Punch passes expire one year from the purchase date.Fall 2026 -

Women's Night at the Rock GymRock GymThis evening is a low-pressure, low-barrier experience for women who are curious about climbing or are already experienced climbers.
