55+ Driver Discount ProgramAdult DrivingComplete this course approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to get a 10% discount on your auto insurance! Taught by a certified instructor, you’ll discuss challenges we face as drivers, new road designs, vehicle technology, and updates on current laws. MN Statute requires insurance agencies to offer a 10% automotive insurance discount upon completion of an approved 4-hour class. Tests are not given, however each person must register, pay, and participate for the duration of the class to receive a certificate. Upon completion, submit your certificate to your insurance company. To maintain your discount, this course needs to be completed every 3 years. NOTE: Your name, address, phone number, email and birth year will be shared with the Precision Driving Center staff to enter into their database for future assistance in verifying your information. Albert Lea Dance Team Fall Youth Dance CampYouth EnrichmentCalling all K-5th graders who love to dance! Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from and dance with members of the Albert Lea Tigers Dance Team! During this fun-filled three-day camp, participants will warm up, stretch, play games, practice dance techniques and skills, and learn a routine to perform. The camp will be taught by ALDT dancers and supervised by the ALDT Booster Club. Final performance details will be shared once they are confirmed. Participants will also be invited to join the ALDT dancers in the ALHS Homecoming Parade, where they will walk alongside the team and help hand out candy. Each dancer will receive a performance T-shirt, decorative hair tie, daily snack, and five hours of instruction and fun. Dancers should wear comfortable activewear and gym shoes, bring a filled water bottle, and arrive at each practice with their hair pulled back and away from their face. Camp schedule:- Wednesday & Friday 4:00-6:00pm- Thursday 4:00-5:00pm - Please note our registration system lists only one time. Refer to the details above for the correct camp times. For the final performance, dancers should wear black shorts and their camp T-shirt. Hair should be pulled back using the decorative hair tie provided at camp. American Red Cross Babysitter's TrainingYouth EnrichmentThis in-person course prepares youth ages 11-16 to safely and confidently care for children and infants. It includes hands-on activities, videos, and discussions to develop essential, real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding, diapering, picking up and holding children, safety, and emergency response. Participants receive an American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training certificate valid for 10 years upon completion. Participants should bring a lunch, water bottle, snacks, and something to take notes with. Short breaks will be provided throughout the class. Participants will take part in exciting games such as Capture the Flag, Free for All, and Player Elimination, all led by a game facilitator focused on safety, fun, and fair play. Whether your child is trying battle-style games for the first time or already loves them, this is a great way to build teamwork, strategy, confidence, and enjoy fast-paced fun. All equipment is provided, including foam ball blasters, protective face gear, and inflatable bunkers. Dress for action! All participants are required to wear tennis shoes and pants for safety and ease of movement. Activewear is recommended. Beginner Disc GolfExperiential EducationThis four class course will introduce disc golf to youth players in a relaxed setting. Participants will learn basic fundamentals of disc golf like play etiquette, terminology and proper throwing form and techniques. The first three sessions will take place at the Brookside Park Boathouse. For the last two sessions, we will meet at Bancroft Park for a round of golf. We will hold your reservation up to a half hour after the time listed in your registration. Who should select 'Passenger'? Choose this option if you are riding as a passenger on any equipment. For example, if you’re in a canoe (which costs $10), only one person needs to pay—but everyone in the canoe must register online and agree to the required waivers.
