Funtabulous Fridays: Nature is Neat
Nature Is Neat is a hands-on ECFE class for children ages 2–5 and their caregivers to explore the wonders of the natural world together. Through stories, sensory play, art, music, outdoor discovery, and simple science activities, families will learn about animals, plants, seasons, weather, and the world around them. This class encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection while supporting early learning and family bonding in a warm and welcoming environment. A short caregiver discussion led by experienced early childhood educators will provide helpful information about child development and everyday parenting.

Hello, my name is Mary Jo Volkman, ECFE Parent Educator at Brookside School. I’ve had the joy of supporting families through Early Childhood Family Education for over 30 years. During that time, I’ve led a variety of classes—from Babies and Toddlers to 3–5s, special topic parenting sessions, and family events. It’s been a true privilege to walk alongside parents and caregivers during these important early years, forming lasting connections and witnessing the growth of so many children. I look forward to creating even more meaningful memories in the year ahead!
